軽トー（テニス）に出場してきました。
この週末で、毎年恒例の軽井沢国際テニストーナメント（通称軽トー）に出場してきました。フジロックでリリーアレン聴いていればいいのに。
パートナーはまーくん。1回戦で元インカレインドアダブルスチャンプの喜多さん／馬場内さんペアにあたり死亡。雲の切れ間からテニスの神様が「テニスをなめるな」とささやいているようでした。
というわけで写真だけでごまかす。

先日朝テニスをしたあと、ひとりでお茶していた。
すると隣に座った3人の女性が、なにやら深刻な表情でビジネスの話しをしている。
彼女たちはネイルサロンのマネージャーらしく、最近の従業員にはハングリーさが足りないと嘆いている。それどころか、ネイリストという職業の社会的立場を築いたのはパイオニアの自分たちであって、新入りはその地位を利用したフリーライダーだと言っていた。
なさけないなーと思った。ブームを作った人は、それをスタイルに、カルチャーにする義務がある。そして働いている仲間にパッションがないのは、自分のせいである。
そういえば宋文州さんが『社員のモチベーションをあげるな』と書いていた。
曰く、
とのことだ。
モチベーション、という言葉が存在すること自体、組織というものは常に違う方向を向いてしまう人がいることの証拠かもしれない。キャプテン翼にサッカーのモチベーション、という言葉はなじまない。本当にやりたいことにはきっかけも、モチベーションもない。
今週はひさびさサービスリリースだ。モチベーションをあげていこう笑！
Early in the morning the other day, after playing tennis, I went to a cafe to grab a cup of coffee.
I sat alone next to three women, who were talking seriously about their business. It seemed that they were managers of a nail salon. They were talking on how to motivate their new employees. According to them, the new staff were not passionate. Being a “nailist” has been established as a recognized occupation, thanks to the pioneers. Furthermore, these three women described the newbies as “free riders”.
I always feel that this kind of argument is wrong. Same concept applies to the shareholder. Tenureship should never be an issue. Everybody in the organization should be treated equally. I agree to evaluating people’s abilities or work performance. If they are evaluated based on when they joined, it is called discrimination.
If managers complain about their employees’ attitude towards work, it is their responsibility. If they are not passionate, it is because managers have no ideas to motivate them. I do not understand why they complain about their employees early in the morning. Do your work.

ロッテリアの湯浅さんから絶妙バーガーのクーポン券をいくつかいただいたので、トライ。美味い。胃にもたれない。さすが。
Mr. Yuasa of Lotteria gave me a bunch of burger vouchers. Due to its preservatives-free ingredients, this burger sits very light on our stomach.
新島でsaro（サロー）に泊まってきました。
この三連休で、新島（にいじま）にいってきました。
東京R不動産の林さんのお誘いを受けて、新島サミットへ参加。
かつてはナンパ島として名を馳せたこの島も、時代の流れとともに観光客が減り、数百あった民宿も数えるほどに、飲み屋もクラブも減っていった。サーフトリップという文脈ではなく、今後この島がどのようになったら面白いだろうか、という問いへの解を、3日間かけてみんなで探りました。
今回滞在したのは、新しくオープンしたsaro／サロー。林さんたちが一軒家を借りてリノベーションしたこのカフェ兼宿泊施設、アットホームで居心地がよくて、最高だった！おもてなしいただいた。そして今回ご一緒させていただいた仲間のみなさまも大変面白い方多く脳みそ刺激されまくりでした。

竹芝からジェット船に乗船。
サミットは廃校になった若郷小学校の一室を借りておこなった。これがまた新鮮。
やっぱり旅にはすべてがある。そして、今回のようにいろいろな組織のジョイント旅行だと、軒先でふとはじまる会話からインスピレーションを得ることもある。旅をするように遊び、学び、仕事ができるようにしようと改めて思いました。
ちなみに新島への交通手段は、竹芝からジェット船で2時間半／調布から飛行機なら35分。東京なのに東京じゃないこの島、また絶対いくことになりそう。
あ、新島のsaroにて時間を過ごしたいという方がいらっしゃれば、ご紹介しますのでぜひ仰ってください。

そういえば先日、小学校の同級生であるまやの結婚式でDJお手伝いしましたー！
結婚式幹事業はしばらく封印した自分ではありますが、一肌脱がずにはいられないということで。さてとあるクラブでやったAfter Party、ちょいと無精して機材を持って行かなかったのですが、DVJ-1000が超便利！
DVJ-1000が2台にRolandのV4、DJM600、アナログタンテ2台という構成、かーなり怖いものなしでた。RolandV4はD-sub端子が1個しかないのでPCtoPCでつなげないと思っていたのですが、V4の機能で映像を一度フェードアウトしてその間にPCを操作すればまったく問題ないことを知った。がーん。

Pants to Povertyのパーティーにいってきました。
（英語と日本語を分けるのではなく、インラインで書いてみましたー。なんかどっかのペーパーバックみたいになってきたぞ笑）
先日7/9のことだが、琢のフィアンセの千恵ちゃんが、彼女がオーガナイズしているPants to Povertyの日本ローンチイベントに誘ってくれた。
Chie, my business partner Tak’s fiancee, invited us to the “Pants to Poverty” party that she organized.
Pants to Povertyは2005年にロンドンではじまった、フェアトレードのオーガニックコットンパンツを作っている団体である。彼らは何か世の中のためにできないかと考えたときに、パンツをネタにしようと思ったそうである。
Pants to Poverty, an organization of fair trade Organic Cotton pants, started in London in 2005. In the very beginning, they tried to find something they can do to help alleviate world poverty and economic digression. They came up with the idea that pants are catchy, and could be an effective catalyst.
オフィシャルヒストリーによると、最初に3000ポンドを銀行から借り入れ、3000枚のパンツを作ったそうである。その後、パンツは16カ国に広がることとなった。
According to their official biography, they borrowed £3000 from the bank and produced 3000 pairs of Organic Cotton pants. And then, their pants have spread to 16 countries.
パーティーの入場料には1ドリンクに加えて1パンツも含まれていた。どれもデザインがよく、個人的にはツボ。やっぱりオーガニックです、っていう説教臭さだけじゃ誰もついてこないからね。
Today’s party charged an entrance fee, which includes one drink and a pair of pants. All pants are designed fancily. I think that consumers do not buy products just because they are organic. Products need to be functional and fashionable as well.

ところでオーガニックコットンとはいったいなんだろうか？僕の知るところでは、まず農薬を使わずに育てられたコットンである（当たり前だ笑）。いくつかのレベルがあるが、過去3年間はその土壌において農薬を使わないことが最低限求められると理解している。
By the way, what is Organic Cotton? As far as I know, its is grown without using pesticides or chemical pesticides. Some different levels exist, however, it must be grown in soil that has been chemical-free for at least three years.
そしてでは、なぜ従来のコットンがよくないのか？まずコットン農家が使う農薬は、世界の25％の農薬使用量を占める。コットンは世界の農業生産高の10％しか占めていないと言えば、その数字の高さが分かるだろう。WHOによると、20000人もの農家が毎年その農薬の害により死亡しているという。それに加え、20万人の農家が農薬を買うための金策に困り、借金苦で自殺している。さらに、毎年100万人が農薬による健康被害で苦しんでいる。
And why is conventional cotton harmful? Pesticides surely make cotton farming more effective, but there are some downsides. Firstly, it accounts for 10% of the world’s agriculture and uses 25% of the world’s pesticides. According to the WHO, 20,000 people die every year from accidental pesticide poisoning in conventional cotton agriculture. Besides that, 200,000 cotton farmers commit suicide annually due to spiraling debts incurred from buying pesticides. A further 1,000,000 people a year suffer from long-term pesticide poisoning. However, if farmers grow cotton organically and can sell it, this dire situation is reversed.
オーガニックコットンであれば万事解決、というわけではないとも思う。化学肥料／農薬を使わずに栽培するというのはとても骨が折れることだからだ。
I think organic farming is hard work. Farmers need to produce natural compost instead of chemical fertilizer. From my limited experience and knowledge, they have to keep an eye on weeds and harmful insects more carefully than usual.
それでもオーガニック栽培することで農家は約50％収入を増やすことができる。40％のコストが削減できるのと同時に、オーガニック農家には20％のプレミアムが上乗せされるからである。
By growing organically, farmers increase their income by 50% – due to a 40% cost reduction. The 20% premium they receive help them to feed, clothe, educate, and provide healthcare for their children.
ま、とりあえずこのパンツお気に入りなので履くことにします。
Anyway, I like these pants very much. They are not so expensive as compared to others. And I feel comfortable wearing them.

坂本龍一『hibari』（Ryuichi Sakamoto / Hibari）
いっこまえのブログ記事でカンヌ金賞をとったサガミコンドームのCMのことを書きましたが、実はその曲が坂本龍一でした。むー、最近チェックしてなかったらアルバム出してたんだー。
というわけで戦場のメリークリスマスと共にポスト。
Every time I watch commercial films, I’m always keen on the musical score, rather than the images. In my last entry, I embedded a short film “Love Distance”. When Ifirst listened to the song in the film, I assumed that it was written by Ryuishi Sakamoto.
It is a beautiful song. However, a feeling of subtle sadness and loneliness is felt after listening to it. I think it really fits the film’s theme.
By the way, speaking of Ryuichi Sakamoto, his most famous song is “Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence.
When I was a high school student, I was the DJ for the official farewell organization. At the end of the party, as the MC greeted everybody in the large hall, I played this song. It totally changed the atmosphere. Since then, this song has been listed in my iPod’s “My legend song” folder.
My mother used to be a piano teacher. I learned from her when I was very little, but she was so strict and scary. I quit playing after 1 or 2 years. If she taught me in a more gentle way, I would have been able to play Mr. Lawrence.
It’s never too late to start? Yes, but there is something called “priority” in this world.

In the 2009 Cannes International Advertisement Festival, Gold and Silver awards for commercial film were given to 2 Japanese directors.

The couple was struggling with long distance love. One day, they started running to meet up with each other. Finally, they met and embraced. At that moment, they are Zero millimeters away from each other, yet they needed 0.02 millimeters in between. An interesting point was, the couple was publicly picked out without prior knowledge that this is an advertisement for a condom.While they are trying to meet each other, all the processes are broadcasted online, but viewers are also not announced that this is an ads of condom. Buzz are formed on the Internet and this campaign

This ad tried to be funny by making up a “Break-up Service”, which does not actually exist. But after shooting, it became clear that the job really existed in underground society.
I don not know the qualifications for judgement to be awarded, but both impressed me. Mass Communication has been collapsing these days. However, advertisements are still one important way to communicate between companies and their customers.
My company, Sow Experience, has never advertised except through small internet ads. But when the right time comes, I want to shoot a CF as a director.
